Alumni a la Playa Summer Party

Sand (seriously!), sun (hopefully 🙏) and beach vibes (guaranteed) are in store for the third annual Alumni Summer Party on 2 July at the Playa Beach Club in Howald.

No beach party is complete without music and this year we are teaming up with the incredible Radio Luxembourg project by alumna Dominique Santana. The historic impact of Radio Luxembourg will be the inspiration for not only the music but also a quiz and prize drawing.

And we are excited to announce that one of the original Radio Luxembourg DJs, Bob Christy, will be playing music during the event and at the after-party.

Your ticket includes a BBQ dinner and two drink tokens. Tickets are on sale now and you are welcome to purchase a ticket for a guest (a limited number of guest tickets are available). Your non-alumni friends are welcome to come to the after-party, as mentioned above.

The schedule for the evening:

• 17:30 Doors Open.
• Cornhole and Pétanque open for play
• 18:30-18:45 Welcome from Andy Adams and Dominique Santana
• 18:45 BBQ dinner service begins
• 19:00 Radio Luxembourg quiz tables open
• 20:45 Prize winners drawing
• 21:00 Official event ends, after-party begins (your non-alumni friends are invited!)

The prizes will include vouchers for several restaurants and for the brand-new relaunched Uni.lu online store coming in September. If you’d like to “study” for the quiz, you can take a look at the Radio Luxembourg website and even better, listen to the Radio Luxembourg podcast series, hosted by students from the Master in Digital and Public History.

Getting to the beach in Luxembourg has never been easier, as Playa Beach Club is close to the Howald Train and Tram station, the Luxembourg Sud Park and Ride, and numerous bus stops. There is also some parking on the street nearby. More information is available in the attached document.
